A Pretty Pink Beach

Ahhh a typical Bermuda winter evening seascape

Dreaming of the Shoreline

I was inspired by Joan Elizabeth's triptych series over at Sweet Wayfarings, so I thought I would have a go with putting one together with my recent photos - I had already cropped them but hadn't thought of presenting them together too.

UPDATE: Here are some more that I put together ('Triptych Triptych'?!)

Pitter-Pattering Sanderling

Another bird. The sanderling's tracks in the wet sand caught my eye. I had trouble taking it as he kept walking out of focus!

Swash over the Rocks

Making use of later sunrise times - photographing along the Southampton Parish beaches with a wake up call at 5.45am wouldn't be possible in the summer!

Belated Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Seasons Greetings etc etc etc!

Before the season is over, I'm posting this happy little Snowman on Holiday (or is it his cousin?). I came across him on Horseshoe Bay. No doubt the creation of a homesick expat!

Beach Runner

Finally November...dogs are allowed on the beaches again. Which coincides nicely with the cooler weather that is just right for working off excess energy!

Dawn over Turtle Bay, St Davids

Sunrise over the east of the island. This is Turtle Bay, just along from Cooper's Island which has recently been converted to a nature reserve. St David's Light House is just visible on the skyline across the bay.

See it on the map

Chaplin Bay

Black and white photograph of the waves washing up on Chaplin Bay, one of the smaller coves along the South Shore of Bermuda. The boundary between Warwick and Southampton parishes bisects this beach.

Sunrise Flash

A bright colourful sunrise this morning from the east end of Warwick Long Bay Beach. It's gradually getting to be sunrise a little later in the mornings, wake up call twenty minutes to six. The sun is also noticably rising (and setting) to the south now. I know this photo is rather overexposed but I thought it best showed the brightness of the new day.

Cooper's Island

Cooper's Island Nature Reserve
Bermuda's newest nature reserve.

23 August 2008

Welcome to the first of my views of Bermuda. The island is beautiful in every light.
This is 9 Beaches Resort - accommodations are canvas cabanas, some with the ocean lapping underneath! It sits on its own peninsula at Daniel's Head at the west end of the Island.
