Checkerboard at Spittal Pond

A slightly ominous sky over the Checkerboard along the Spittal Pond coastline. Salty waves washing back and forth over the limestone has slowly eroded grid-like markings into the rock.

Tucker House

A plaque on the wall of Tucker House, a Bermuda National Trust property in the Town of St George. What really caught my eye though was the shadows of the rough plastering thrown by the early morning light.

Sunrise through Red Mangroves

Early morning light on the waves gently washing in through the red mangroves at Blue Hole Nature Reserve in Castle Harbour. The roots of these plants arch out into the sand and silt to support themseves. The black mangroves are notable for their roots which grow vertically up out of the sand like snorkels, and essentially carry out that function. Properly, they're called pneumatophors. I'll show a photograph of them sometime.
